Vita

Herbert Roy Ringo, son of Carl B. Ringo, Sr. and Christine Weaver Ringo, was born January 11, 1929 at Fresno, California, and was there baptized in infancy by the Rev. Edward Sharp (Presbyterian).  Thereafter, with his family he moved successively to El Portel, Merced, and Richmond, California.  On March 25, 1945 he was confirmed by the Rev. Orval A. Awerkamp, becoming a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Richmond.

Elementary education was received in Merced.  In 1946 he was graduated from Richmond Union High School.  He received the B.A. degree from Midland College, Fremont, Nebraska, in 1950, and was graduated from Luther Theological Seminary with the class of 1953.

On July 7, 1951 he was united in marriage with Berit Marie Jokstad of Oslo, Norway.  They have one son, Thomas Michael.

He is thankful for the love and encouragement of his parents and his brother, Carl; for the consecrated influences and guidance of pastors Orval A. Awerkamp and Milus W. Banker, and the faculty of Luther Theological Seminary; and for the encouragement, understanding love and devoted companionship of his wife Berit.  He is preeminently grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ who has redeemed him from sin and called him to serve in the Ministry of the gospel.
